HOW TO ENTER:
Enter by using the exclusive
official entry form available on The Write Stuff website (entry
form).
Only complete entries will be accepted. Entries that do not
follow the specified criteria for length, word count, etc. will
be disqualified. All completed entry forms can either be mailed
or emailed to Ink Tree Ltd. no earlier than October 25, 2005 and
must be received no later than
November 10, 2005. Mailed entries must be
typed.
2.
The entry must be original to the
contestant. Copyright to the entry must be owned exclusively by
the contestant.
3.
The contest is open to all
residents of southern Alberta, except employees and employees’
immediate families of Insomniac Press, The
Calgary Sun, Chapters/Indigo and Ink Tree Ltd. and their
subsidiaries, franchisees, associated companies and their
advertising and promotional agencies. Contestants may not have
been employed by the sponsor companies at any time over the
duration of the contest or two months preceding the contest.
4.
Prizing:
Winner will receive a publishing contract
with Insomniac Press valued at $35,000.00. The prize value does
not equal the publishing advance. All contract details including
advance, royalties, etc. will be decided between winner and
Insomniac Press.
5.
Deadline for entry is 11:59 p.m.
on November 10, 2005. The selected Top 10 entries will be
contacted by phone
on November 15, 2005 at the latest and final
winner will be announced at the winner party on November 30,
2005. Any prizes not claimed will become property of Ink Tree Ltd.
6.
The chances of winning
depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
7.
All entries become the
property of Ink Tree Ltd. and will not be returned. Ownership
of copyright remains with the author.
8.
The contest is subject to
all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and
regulations.
9.
All prizes must be accepted
as awarded. Prizes are not transferable. There is NO CASH
VALUE AND NO SUBSTITUTIONS MAY BE MADE.
10.
Entry forms that are mutilated or
altered in any manner, or that are obtained through illegitimate
channels, are void. No purchase necessary. No photocopies
or faxed entries accepted.
11.
Any entries
that promote racist, pornographic, obscene or hate activities,
will be disqualified.
12.
Only ONE entry form per
book idea will be accepted.
You may submit more than one book idea provided that each idea
is unique and a separate entry form is submitted for each idea.
13.
The prizes will be awarded
provided the rules of the contest are complied with.
14.
In
consideration of participating in The Write Stuff contest, the
contestant hereby releases, waives and discharges all sponsors
of the contest from all liability, and to their heirs, executors
administrators and assigns for all loss of any kind to their
person or property whether or not caused by negligence of the
contest sponsors or any of their employees.
15.
The sponsors of this
contest reserve the right to cancel or modify the contest at any
time. All sponsors reserve the right, in its absolute
discretion, to make substitutions in the event of the
unavailability of any component of the prize for any reason
whatsoever.
16.
By entering
the contest, the contestant gives authorization and full
consent, that Ink Tree Ltd. may publish their name, photograph,
voice, any portion of their
written submission or any other visual
materials in which they may appear without limitation or
reservation or any compensation.
17. Contest
winners will be required to answer a skill-testing question and
sign a release form stating they have complied with the rules of
the contest in order to win the prize. If any statement made by
the contestant in this declaration is false, they agree to
return to the sponsors the full amount of any prize that may be
awarded.
18.
All entries will be
subject to verification by the contest organizers.
19.
Judges decisions are
final.
20. The
contest is managed by Ink Tree Ltd.
